DeviceFX NFC - Mobile Application
Fast and simple Webex Calling provisioning using ‘Tap to Deploy’!
UnifiedFX is the leading innovator for provisioning and migration of Cisco IP phones. Our latest innovation takes advantage of the new Cisco 9800 series NFC technology, enabling simple and rapid device deployment with our new Tap to Deploy capability.
Introducing the DeviceFX NFC mobile application, for both iPhone and Android devices. Enables in-box provisioning and works with Webex Calling Multi-Tenant.
The DeviceFX NFC App is a fully documented, open-source mobile application available on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, designed specifically to unlock the powerful NFC capabilities of the Cisco Desk Phone 9800 Series (9841 and 9851 models). It enables administrators to provision phones to Webex Calling with just a tap: simply search for a user or workspace in Webex, scan the phone’s built-in NFC tag, and the app writes the required configuration directly to the phone, allowing instant registration without manually entering activation codes. Additionally, it can write onboarding preferences to the NFC chip, letting you set the phone’s registration priority to Activation Code, Cloud Priority (Webex first), or CUCM Priority (on-premises first).
DeviceFX NFC features:
- Provision the phone to Webex while still in the box
- Provision directly to Webex or generate and save an Activation Code directly to the phone via NFC
- Gather and Export Device Inventory, ideal for importing to CUCM
- Automatically add Asset Tag and Auto Number to phone inventory
Not only does the DeviceFX NFC app make deploying phones to Webex fast and simple, the mobile app source code has been published and documented at:
The app also serves as an efficient inventory tool, capable of collecting detailed information — including model, serial number, MAC address, and firmware version — from multiple 9800-series phones via quick NFC scans. Collected data can be exported in CSV or XLS format, making it ideal for asset tracking, audits, or generating BAT (Bulk Administration Tool) files for CUCM imports..
